Blue Things

A Kansas group that popped up in the mid-1960s, the Blue Things's style darted back and forth across the musical plains, a mixture of the folk and chiming harmonies of the Byrds and some harsher elements such as guitar freak-outs and psychedelic studio tricks. They stood apart from their peers for their early psychedelic innovations seeing that, at the time, most British Invasion-influenced bands were still doting over their newly purchased copies of Revolver. The fact that wider recognition eludes Val Stecklein's ace songwriting continues to baffle Blue Things fans.
