The track titles "E Heads Must Die" and "The Hardest Gabba" set up certain expectations for electronic brutality, but Johnny Violent (aka Ultraviolence) exceeds that expectation. Beats generate a too-high blood pressure pulse that maintains its loop so long, it borders on psychostrobic. It's not just intense, it truly affects your neural system. Samples of cacophonous noise, guitar riffs and grinding synthlines are harsh and extreme, but his sense of militaristic force is not without a sense of humor.
