100 All-Time Children's Favorites is a three-disc bonanza of classics, singalongs, and lullabies, all performed by a cheery, if not particularly exceptional, chorus of kids. Favorites like "Pat-A-Cake, Pat-A-Cake," "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," and "I'm a Little Teapot" are present and accounted for; however, the collection is top-loaded with numerous favorites from yesteryear that, while generally accepted as classics, may seem a bit dated or even odd to today's young listener. The fishmonging hero of "Cockles and Mussels (Molly Malone)," "Bobby Shafto"'s silver buckles, even "London's Burning" -- while these songs are sung with glee by cheeky child vocalists, their subject matter might raise more questions than it does voices in song. Nevertheless,
100 All-Time Children's Favorites is an effective way to procure most of the singalong material you'll ever need. Just make sure you know what a fishmonger is before junior asks. ~ Johnny Loftus
