While its title might suggest that
Baby's Best: Toddler's Favorites is a sort of greatest-hits album, it's actually just another collection from Madacy, and includes many of the label's most overexposed songs, at that. While the kid choir performances are certainly cheery and the piano-led arrangements are full of pep, they do become rather tiring after a while -- almost like when your face hurts from smiling too much. "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes," "Little Jack Horner" (which features a groan-worthy solo couplet from some young tyke), and "London Bridge Is Falling Down" are so relentless in their happiness that the relative goofiness of "Pop Goes the Weasel" is a welcome alternative.
Toddler's Favorites will likely provide some singalong fun for your kids. But, just like too much chocolate cake, this much delirious cheerfulness might be bad for you. ~ Johnny Loftus
