This is the debut album of Taylor Dupree, who would later go on to found the minimalist/ambient label 12K. More rhythmic than his later releases,
12K manages to keep a fairly minimal sound based largely on electronic beeps and basslines while adding enough percussion to create a clubby, dance-music feel. Taylor ranges technologically from the simplest analog modulators to cutting-edge synth technology, and his comfort with a variety of sounds shows on this album. Multi-layered and varied, this album foreshadows the kind of work that Dupree would do in the future. ~ Stacia Proefrock
