A Carnegie Hall Christmas is a great collection of classical interpretations of traditional carols. There are a couple of contemporary tunes, such as "The Christmas Song" and "Winter Wonderland, " which are given rich orchestral treatments, but most of the album consists of lush, luxurious arrangements of songs like "Twelve Days of Christmas," "Silent Night," and "Joy to the World," all of which make for ideal holiday listening, no matter what the occasion is. ~ Rodney Batdorf
