Mistitled
A Nite at the Cotton Club, these are actually compiled recordings of the
Duke Ellington Orchestra for the Okeh label between 1929-1931. Other than the unusually fine sound, there is nothing new under the sun here as all of this has been previously issued by Sony Legacy. That said, the material is high quality and contains jumping renditions of "The Mooche," "Jungle Night in Harlem," and the earliest versions of "Mood Indigo" and "Rockin' in Rhythm."
