For
A Positive Sweat,
Hardway again moved closer toward emphasizing live instrumentation and vocal tracks over just programming. Much of the album was actually recorded in the studio during loose jam sessions, with
Hardway only going over the tapes afterwards to insert additional breakbeats. The results are well-produced but overly smooth in spots, more akin to '90s mainstream soul than most drum'n'bass. While
Amanda Ghost contributes most of the vocals,
Hardway himself steps out for "Go On." ~ John Bush
