Everything about Pablo Montero's career, from his beginnings singing with his father to his 2003 homage to Mexican singer Javier Solis, shows that the young performer has a deep appreciation of traditional Mexican music. A TODO LEY doesn't do much to buck the trend. Strains of norteno, mariachi, and traditional balladry appear in the mix, while the arrangements and instrumentation (especially the sweeping strings on cuts like "Como Lograr Olvidarla") keep things sounding plenty contemporary. Still, the album's focus remains Montero's rich, swoon-inducing baritone.
