In late 1963,
Joe Brown released a four-song EP of Christmas carols,
All Things Bright and Beautiful. Like many holiday releases, it was a fairly insignificant sidetrack from his principal discography, and was oriented toward his guitar playing rather than his vocals. In fact, all of the singing on the title cut (which was also used as a late-1963 B-side), as well as two of the other three tracks, was done by women vocalists rather than
Brown himself. The original EP is rare, but all of the cuts have been reissued on CD, all four of them appearing on the compilation
Crazy Mixed-Up Kid: The Complete Pye Piccadilly Recordings.
