Sada Sat Kaur, a California-based Kundalini yoga instructor, updates and beautifies the joyous sounds of Germukhi chanting for the stressed-out modern age. In addition to lovely vocals, tracks are filled with a rich array of instruments, including harmonium, tabla, keyboards, and even pedal steel guitar. "Ra Ma Da Sa" mixes tabla, sitar, deep synth samples, lush vocal harmonies, and Kaur's hypnotic, soothing chanting, all combining and increasing in power as the track progresses. "Adi Shakti" with its spine-tingling drones and male backing vocals doubling the sitar line, has a similarly expansive effect that will either put one in deep trance or vibrate their resistant ego into the dust. There are even touches of cool jazz, such as the mournful piano that opens "Guru Guru Wahe Guru." English translations of the chants are included in the liner notes, along with instructions for performing accompanying meditations.
