Larry Goldings has proven to be equally adept on piano and organ. He sticks to the former exclusively on this trio set with bassist
Larry Grenadier and veteran drummer
Paul Motian. The music mostly emphasizes originals and contains plenty of diversity, with
Goldings ranging in style from mid-1970s
Keith Jarrett and some abstract post-bop to impressionistic and introspective ballads. Few sparks fly, but the set does hold one's interest and finds the pianist stretching himself. ~ Scott Yanow
