One of pianist
Teddy Wilson's lesser-known bands is the sextet he led during 1940-44, shortly after his orchestra broke up and before he cut back to a trio. This unit, well featured on this Jazz Archives LP, by 1944 featured trumpeter
Emmett Berry, trombonist
Benny Morton and clarinetist
Edmond Hall and played swinging versions of standards. The contents of this LP are taken from a session recorded for play on radio, and unlike the studio recordings of the era, many of these performances are over four minutes long.
