Goodman leads a big band again for the majority of this album with few surprises. The instrumentals (all standards except for the recent "Stereo Stomp") are fine but the unidentified personnel (which has such players as Bob Wilbur,
Pepper Adams and
Russ Freeman) mostly functions as an anonymous ensemble. Better are the four selections by
Goodman and a rhythm section that include pianist
Andre Previn. Nice music overall but there are many more essential
Benny Goodman sets available elsewhere.
