Ammons recorded many worthy albums for Prestige during the 1950s and early '60s. This particular LP, released for the first time in 1982, is an average, although enjoyable enough, outing.
Ammons along with
Sleepy Anderson (doubling on piano and organ) and an otherwise unknown rhythm section plays a variety of ballads and blues-oriented tunes with swing and creativity. Nothing that unusual occurs but fans should enjoy this set.
