Ninajirachi’s melodies feel delicate and pure, offsetting the intensity of her second EP’s biggest moments while making the lighter ones feel even airier. Also known as Nina Wilson, the 20-year-old Central Coast producer journeys from twinkly intimacy to heavy and energetic and back again, all in 20 minutes. Title track “Blumiere” opens the EP with immediately captivating synths that begin daintily before opening out as a heaving club track—a sentiment later intensified on “Rainbow Train,” featuring Norwegian producer Coucheron, a campy disco-meets-EDM highlight. “Alight” and closer “Tethered to the Body” both feature vocals performed by Ninajirachi, and showcase her more sensitive side. The former in particular is a revealing account of the pains of unrequited love for a friend: “So obsessed, I got it bad/I get undressed, I lie in bed/Look at the ceiling and I find you in my head yet again.”
