Short and to the point, this Austin-based punk quartet takes a while to adjust to, with "We Will Kill You" a decent jumping-off point. The band, fronted by Penny Tration, has a good grasp on the punk genre, but a lot of the numbers need an extra boost of intensity to capture their feel and intended appeal. Most of the songs are similar to
the Sex Pistols and
the Damned, as well as
the Ramones in certain instances. Lyrically, most of the songs tread well-worn paths, but it's only in the latter half of the album that the group opts for a more rock-oriented groove. "Take You Out" and "Can You Dance to It" are the cream of the crop, but it's a rather average punk rock album.
