Austin's
Bob Schneider has released over a dozen solo albums since 1998, and while his writing and approach to each has been consistent, he isn't afraid to stretch things a bit, and for his newest,
Burden of Proof, he's slowed the pace some, added strings (Austin's
Tosca String Quartet), and written songs that carry his recurring themes of love, loss and lust with a slightly more elegant edge. Not that he's mellowed, mind you, but he's gathered some emotionally charged grace along the way, and
Burden of Proof is one of his finest releases.
