A former advertising sales representative for the Chicago Tribune newspaper,
Richard Rogers was discovered at a talent show by a scout who secured him a deal with Sam Records.
John Davis' production for his debut wasn't a bad one;
Rogers had a smooth, sophisticated, soulful sound, and did a creditable job on such songs as "I'll Be Your Dream Lover" and "Spread A Little Love." Unfortunately, the album got buried in the glut of similar-style productions flooding the market. ~ Ron Wynn
