Intuition. A concept similar to The Sintesis album (Mezcla's leader, Pablo Menendez, was at one time a member of that group), but very different in execution. The singer, Lazaro Ross, is one of the greatest, or possibly the greatest (how would you measure?) singers of traditional Afro-Cuban religious music. The production and mix, by New Yorkers Rachel Faro and Sanny Figueroa in a German studio, is slick.
