Cappadonna's is the rare hits collection that appears before close to half of the material it comprises was even released -- due to a pushed-back release date for his sophomore record. For the only casually obsessive Wu-Tang fan, this two-album distillation is a better choice than either of his first two solo records, though it's a baffler why this was even released. (The one quality that would've made it worthwhile, the inclusion of his Wu-Tang Clan features, is a missed opportunity.) For what it's worth, Cappadonna Hits does the job, grabbing a handful of highlights ("Splish Splash," "Black Boy," and "Slang Editorial") from The Pillage, along with the best from The Yin and the Yang ("Love Is the Message," "The Grits," and "Super Model"). ~ John Bush
