This collection samples several obscure Irish bands performing everything from the punk-infused Celtic rock of Hardshaw's "Weili Weile Waile" and "I'll Tell Me Ma" to the country sound of Jean Dixon's "Route 609" to the straight-up Irish folk-rock of Dublin Town Buskers and their lead singer Tom Donovan. Seven selection by the latter two artists are included on this compilation and nine of this album's songwriting and arranging credits are attributed to Owl Records'
Reg Keating (of Dagda fame). The most interesting selection is "Alway's Movin'," a progressive techno-laced piece performed by Keating's shadow group the Anorak Adventure in which he successfully capitalized on Irish pride during a mid-'90s World Cup soccer tournament. ~ Dave Sleger
