After releasing five albums between his smash hit debut in 2000 and 2007, romantic singer Raúl decided to take some time off. A more mature Raúl reappears four years later on Contramarea, an album in which he tries to shake off the one-hit wonder prejudice that has stuck since his early success, and to reignite a career that was faltering. Raúl writes all the material, with the exception of the album's first single, a cover version of Rocío Jurado's "Se Nos Rompió el Amor."
