Dance Funk collects several deeply funky dance, soul and disco numbers from the '70s and '80s, including
Kool & the Gang's "Jungle Boogie,"
Parliament's "Flash Light,"
the Gap Band's "Burn Rubber on Me (Why You Wanna Hurt Me),"
the Temptations' "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone,"
the Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster,"
Hamilton Bohannon's "Let's Start the Dance,"
James Brown's "There It Is, Pt. 1" and Carl Carlton's "She's A Bad Mama Jama (She's Built, She's Stacked)." Even though there's a couple of slow patches and a couple of dated songs, it's a highly entertaining collection that captures the flavor of funky dance music from the '70s quite well. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
