Danyew attended Calvary Chapel Christian School at the same time as fellow Christian artist
Phil Wickham. The connection, whether intentional or not, manifests itself on one of the album's stand-out tracks, the groovy "Close Your Eyes," which recalls
Wickham's ethereal electro-pop sound. Lead single "Beautiful King" began as a tribute to the singer's sister Rachael Marie before evolving into its current radio-friendly chorus. Other tracks, like the seductive "Streetlight," indicate that the California native could just as easily venture off into pure pop music. "Turnstile" closes the album in a slightly different direction, a folksy, dreamy love song. There are no gimmicks on this record, only the solid craftsmanship of a talented artist. ~ Jared Johnson
