Cologne-based rock band Brings celebrate their 20th anniversary (their debut album, Zwei Zoote Minsche, came out in 1991) with the release of their 12th studio album, Dat Is Geil. The songs are in the same vein as the other Brings hits of the 2000s, where the group substituted its '90s rock sound with music aimed at the Cologne Carnival -- party songs with schlager, rock, and polka elements. Dat Is Geil contains 13 songs, among them the hit single "Hallelujah" (which had already been released in January 2010 and reached number 23 on the German single charts) and the ballad "Rään" (runner-up at the 2011 Cologne singalong contest). The album debuted at number seven on the German album charts, their best position since 2003's Puddelrüh (which reached number 32).
