Monty Python's Flying Circus: 30 Musical Masterpieces is a bit of a misnomer, as it implies a collection of the venerable English comedy troupe's best-loved song parodies, but read further down from the familiar image of a bare cartoon foot descending from the clouds, and you'll see "The Infamous Television Series: 1969-1974." This 30-track compilation is an all-instrumental overview of the show's (and many of its sketches) colorful, carnival-style incidental music. While the lack of dialogue and singing makes it a bit of a "die-hard" fan collectors item, the producers took great care in selecting and recording the musical portions of their sketches, resulting in an experience that may not warrant the uproarious laughter that the "Ministry of Silly Walks" invokes, but will surely illicit a chuckle or two for those in the know. ~ James Christopher Monger
