Deas Vail’s sophomore full-length finds the Arkansas-raised Christian rock band borrowing more heavily from indie rock. But even though their amps are bigger, their take on the genre is a charmingly wholesome one, geared for a mainstream audience.
Wes Blaylock’s airy falsetto is as sweet as ever and
Andy Moore continually keeps things interesting with his jangly guitar parts.
Deas Vail definitely has a bit more bite than previous albums or EPs, but the songs are still rich with lush textures, and the sunbleached melodies are often keen and catchy.
