Decíamos Ayer is both his debut solo album and his first own work in 30 years, a collection of covers of Spanish pop & rock classics from the late '70s/early '80s by the likes of
Joaquín Sabina,
Serrat,
Radio Futura, Tequila,
Burning, and
Moris, among others, as well as Cuban songwriters
Pablo Milanés and
Silvio Rodríguez, and a Spanish version of
