Dig and Edit can be taken as a general sign. While his compositions are for the most part fairly straightforward in terms of establishing a mood and pace and then maintaining it, he does so with easy grace throughout, and the horn-driven punch of "Aneugalam" is much removed from the exultant
Moroder electro of "Gothenergy" (easily the best song title on the album) and the steady four-to-the-floor punch and sweet piano melody of "Communication Satellite." There's even what could be a
Cocteau Twins circa 1993 gone dance tribute with "Transaction," thanks to the liquid flow of the lead guitar line set against a serviceable rhythm surrounded by swooping drones. A "slow" version of "Open Up" concludes this enjoyable effort.
