Dino's 1991 release,
Majestic Peace, is meant to take the listener to "the Colorado Mountains, Grand Tetons or the hills of Tennessee." It does a fairly good job of that. The song choices were quite good, particularly his pairings of "Chopin's Opus 28, Prelude No. 4" with the gospel melody "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child" and "Lamb of God" with "O How He Loves You and Me." Throughout the album, there is a backdrop of nature sounds. This is nice for a number or two, but rather annoying by the end. The music alone would have been enough to bring the listener to the mountains; the nature sounds seem a bit gimmicky. Overall, though, this is a nicely done album. Dino's piano style is simple and faithful to the original, keeping the focus on the music rather than his playing abilities. This album is meditative and peaceful, a pleasant combination of folk melodies and gospel classics. ~ Melinda Hill
