Included are segued music and found sound from an assortment of peoples whose sole link is that Britain's Granada TV picked them for a series on "endangered" cultures, from Kenya's Rendille to the Hungarian Vlachs via Siberia, Morocco, Venezuela and points north, south, east and west. It's a slippery concept (cultures are stronger and less static than they're given credit for), but as good an excuse for a compilation as many, and most of these groups are not represented at your local Tower Records. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music
