Drawing its track listing entirely from her first album, Doin' the Do is a fairly big rip-off. There really isn't a problem with the music, which is literally every song from the first album plus a few remixes for good measure. The problem is that an entire album of material, 1992's Grrr! It's Betty Boo, is inexplicably left off of the collection. And she only had two albums. Literally half of her material is just ignored, as if it never happened. For this album to even claim to be her "very best" material is a joke; what about "I'm on My Way," or "Let Me Take You There," or any of the other fun rap-pop ditties from her sophomore album? This is nothing more than a re-release of Boomania with bonus tracks, and that was a spotty effort that was dragged down by boring synth pop fluff like "Shame." For some really good Betty Boo, her second album is the place to start. Then move onto this album, which still has some great singles despite the filler. But just be warned, if you have Boomania, then there is nothing here that anyone but the most dedicated fans need.
