Before becoming one of the biggest-selling acts in Japanese music, rockers L'Arc-en-Ciel were an early indie favorite in Osaka. With something of a new wave sound and a large helping of contemporary light rock, the band gained local success and released its debut, Dune. The album quickly shot to the top of the Oricon indie charts on the strength of singles like "Floods of Tears" and the band's slightly synthesized sound and new wave look. The album was re-released in an anniversary edition in 2004 with an additional three tracks.
