Electric Silence offers other-worldly music of incredible beauty and strangeness, influenced by the music of Asia but taking it into far more original realms. This is in no way some ethno-new age wankery, but just the opposite, with music as wild and freeform as Sun City Girls' avant-rock ethno-improvisations from a decade or two later. Multi-instrumentalists Marron and Karwatky experiment with sitar, saz, tambura, Mellotron, double bass, and an invented instrument called a "super string," which makes this intense "sproing" noise, while Giger holds it together with his fantastic drumming. From the weird opium-den trance-soundtrack of "Khali" to the more funky "For Earthly Thinking," to the even wilder tracks like "The Road Not Taken,"
