On her third solo album (with a strong provincial reference to São Paulo city),
Klébi retakes the path outlined in her first release and abandoned in the second, toward a Brazilian expression more (not totally) independent of the dictatorship of the market and its fashionable electronics. Interpreting only originals with the exception of "Mania de Possuir" (
Guilherme Arantes), the inclusion of a samba paulista ("O Samba de Sampa") is an admirable and applauded effort, even if she has to commit herself to better interpret this demanding style. "Pé de Amor" excludes all percussion in an acoustic 12-string guitar arrangement that mixes American and Brazilian folk under a beautiful melody. "A Cidade de Outro" works as a folk ballad with its acoustic mandolin arrangement. "City-SP" is another sensitive moment, interpreted a cappella. "Como Você, Ninguém" explores reggae with finesse, "Completa" reaches subtle world overtones, and "Escolhas" is a beautiful and unpretentious ballad with slide guitars and samba percussion. Rock arrangements predominate in "Eu Sou Paulista," "Com O Que Lhe Pareço," amd "Prima Serena." The arrangements are more sincere on this album, but one is kept with the sensation that if she embraced MPB she would have a remarkable future. ~ Alvaro Neder
