ESP is another effort by
the Bee Gees to return to the pop charts, this time capturing the band in an attempt to add some street beats and mild hip-hop to their standard adult pop. At times, the makeover works, such as on the title track and "Crazy for Your Love," but most of the time it flails and falls on its face, most notably on the crushingly awkward "Backtafunk." It's sort of interesting as a curiosity, but only for dedicated fans. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
