This 2002 EP builds upon
Landing's vision, which is one fraught with dream poppy, non-linear, yet highly engaging emotional landscapes. The group favors ambient washes, out of which emerge snatches of traditional rock instrumentation or a hushed, dreamy vocal. As quickly as they come into focus, however, they dissipate back into the landscape. The result is actually quite emotional and affecting, as evidenced by the finest track here, "Whirlwind." On this track, out of an ascending swirl of crystalline tones, a low rock beat finally swells, and then the gorgeous, whispery vocals of Adrienne Snow begin to pull at the listener. This Connecticut group creates a stirring emotional canvas, and this EP is far from a collection of throwaways. ~ Erik Hage
