Going by their name, one would have the impression that The Shitbirds are a straight up, punked out, drunken obnoxious garage band that aspiring to be the next GG Allin and the Murder Junkies. On the contrary,
Famous Recording Artists is a handy collection of snotty, female fronted punk that has an element of early 80's influence as well as hints of melodic pop -- but only a little for the later. On top of their array of the aforementioned, there are a number of covers that range from "Not of This Earth" (
Angry Samoans) "Beef Bologna"(Fear) and "There Was a Time"(The Hard-Ons) that showcases where The Shitbirds got their sound from. Nice for anyone who appreciates a band that keeps in touch with their punk rock roots as this is also convenient for the avid
Shitbird fans who had a hard time keeping up with their vinyl collection.
