The pressure on
Loosegoats was quite heavy, after gaining much attention and critical acclaim for their EPs, and they matched the expectations really well. The album is a very good look at the Swedish lo-fi scene at its best, and the first track, "Disdialogic," kicks off the album at a great pace. But although the album is quite hard-rocking, there are some slow, country-influenced pieces as well, and that shows how talented this combo is. Normally when a group consists of youngsters, all they can do is go wild on their guitars and drums, but here we have kids that are both rocking and melancholy. Included on the album is also a cover of
Waylon Jennings' classic "The Dukes of Hazzard Theme," a reminder of where
Loosegoats got their influence from. All in all, this is a rocking album that should suit the lo-fi fan fine. ~ Tommy Gunnarsson
