Le Mr Scruff nouveau est arrivé ! Au sens propre du terme, car ce nouvel opus de l’anglais traduit une évolution dans son style musical. S’il nous avait habitué à ses gimmicks funk relevés d’un piano jazzy et de rythmiques électro, c’est dans une veine plus intimiste que se propage cette bactérie amicale… Si le groove est toujours de la partie, il se fait plus discret, au profit morceaux chantés à l’ambiance soul ou de pépites électroniques frondeuses. Mais le changement se trouve surtout dans les détails. Le cartoonesque DJ a soigné les arrangements, plus recherchés et moins attendus qu’à l’accoutumé.
