A gospel/secular mixture that pops up on eBay at cutout prices (i.e., $2.99 or the highest bid). While this Michael Stokes production didn't cross over as anticipated, it smoothed the road for the slick, fiery gospel expressions that blew up in the '90s and remains more viable than ever.
Caesar delivers Ashford & Simpson's "Reach Out and Touch Somebody's Hand" and "He's a Friend," originally by Eddie Kendricks, along with some Stokes/Ronn Matlock songs. Two tracks, "Message to the People" and "He's Got a Love (That Will Last Forever)" first appeared on First Lady (Hob 1977).
