Punk rock band
Grand Incredible released their debut album,
G.I.gantic, in 2003. Founded by Matt "Mojo" Morginsky and Ethan Luck of
the O.C. Supertones,
Grand Incredible offers listeners a sound similar to the southern California ska band, minus the brass section. Morginsky covers vocals and bass, while Luck plays guitar, drums, and percussion. Lyrically, the album boldly proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is accessible to its target audience: the teenage and college crowd. The song "Be Thou My Television" speaks of being distracted from spending time with God, while "California Shore" revels in how God speaks through His creation. Unfortunately, the "Half Time" section of the album proves a distraction from the project's well-communicated messages. An ode to the L.A. Lakers, "Half Time" includes three songs, "Los Angeles," "Robert Horry," and "The Lakers por Vida." The purpose of this intermission is uncertain, other than providing an opportunity for the band to praise their favorite NBA team.
