The companion to evangelist David Nasser's book by the same title,
Glory Revealed was a scripture-based folk-pop compilation that paired established and new artists in stripped-backed settings. Much like
Jars of Clay's
Who We Are Instead or
David Crowder*Band's B Collision, artists who typically speak with guitars and full bands sounded off this time amid mandolin, banjo, and fiddle.
Third Day's Mac Powell oversaw the project and contributed vocals on several tracks. He showed more versatility than might be expected from the man who has fronted one of Christendom's most storied rock bands. He impressively assembled folk and bluegrass worship themes as if second nature. Powell tag-teamed the vocals on lead single "By His Wounds" with
Steven Curtis Chapman,
Brian Littrell, and
Casting Crowns' Mark Hall. This compilation tastes most refreshing after a steady diet of radio rock. ~ Jared Johnson
