Using instruments made of scrap metal, VCR parts, circular saw blades, bike parts, and other metallic refuse, Neptune creates a futuristic junkyard sound that in its volume and energy is reminiscent of rock. As is the case with their clanging predecessors, Einsturzende Neubauten, cacophony rules over traditional rock melodies on planet Neptune, although some familiar sense of tune seeps through with the help of driving guitar-like sounds and homemade synthesizers. GONG LAKE, their first for experimental label Table of the Elements/Radium, adds to their already impressive backlog of releases since 1994.
