Molly Hatchet's career, for many, boils down to
Flirtin' With Disaster and assorted other songs from their uneven albums. Originally released in 1990, Greatest Hits does a fine job of summarizing the highlights, and the 2001 reissue goes even further, adding three tracks that weren't on the original 12-track collection, along with liner notes from Martin Popoff. The end result is the definitive summary on the pedestrian Southern boogie band -- the only other album outside of
Flirtin' With Disaster that most fans will need. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
