Zingend in zijn moedertaal, gebruikt Gurrumul Yunupingu dit titelloze debuut om zijn zelden in wat voor cultuur dan ook gehoorde zangtalent te laten horen. Het is vooral verassend tegen de achtergrond van de voornamelijk repetitieve, woeste Australische Aboriginal stijl. Het geluid is op vele manieren dat van een andere wereld, maar in plaats dat dit het resultaat is van productie en geluidsmanipulatie, is dit puur het resultaat van Gurrumuls stem en zijn eigen vaardigheid met spaarzame composities, die het geluid opvullen zonder teveel aandacht voor zichzelf op te eisen. Dit is een fantastisch album over de hele linie, en zal diegenen dienen die relatief onbekend zijn met het relevante Aboriginal geluid, maar ook diegenen die bekend zijn met de tradities er van. Gurrumul zal zeker meer en meer fans werven wanneer de bekendheid van dit album zich verspreid.
