Preceding the release of his groundbreaking first full-length by a month, Hatas Our Motivation was the first DJ Nate release on Planet Mu. Built around the defiant anthem "Hatas Our Motivation," also included on the album, the EP includes five additional songs, most notably the fan favorite "Ima Burn Him," which remains Nate's most addictive track. Something about the track's cool glide spiked with tension (the gun clicks, the flittering pulse, the casual threat of the repeated title phrase) keeps it on edge yet strangely soothing. Elsewhere is the more aggressive battle track "Make Em Run" and the more outwardly sentimental "We Can Work This Out" and "See Into My Eyes." The EP is just as essential as Da Trak Genious, and might even be preferable to listeners who can't handle 70 minutes of this stuff.
