Here Right Now is the debut album from
Tasha Page-Lockhart, the season six winner of BET gospel singing competition Sunday Best. Produced almost entirely by
Kirk Franklin, who also wrote seven of the 11 songs, the material is naturally introspective in nature -- given
Page-Lockhart's bumpy personal evolution -- although it's not so specific that the everyday listener cannot relate.
Page-Lockhart wrote two of the songs with husband
Clifton Lockhart, including the relatively traditional "I'm Living." Much of the material is contemporary gospel in nature, firmly rooted in soul and blues, while "Best Work" is a pleasing diversion that evokes mid-'80s pop-R&B.
