The group's most rhythmic album, thanks in no small part to the presence of two drummers (
Karl Burns and
Paul Hanley), Hex Enduction Hour was recorded partially in Iceland with producer
Richard Mazda. The percussion adds extra weight to the group's erformance, but the songbook does not add much to
the Fall's legacy, with the exception of "Deer Park" (which became a live favorite) and "Hip Priest." ~ Alex Ogg
